And as above say; you can't even change it. At least in survival evolved you were able to change the tether length, only ever being teleported when host went into a cave. But now even if you change it, the distance will always be 180 meters.
You can increase further then the slider allows by entering a number instead. Water and caves mess with the tether distance. If any of you have a halfway decent computer I would recommend running a dedicated server in the background on one of your computers. Or on a seperate computer if one of you have a spare.Is a cop out because there's plenty of other peer to peer survival games that can handle loading both players worlds without a tether distance, the devs just don't want to make it work like how they handle the majority of the game. The fact that ark is pretty much the only peer to peer survival game that forces a tether distance says enough
Just most people today wouldn't notice it because most people's PCs are more than able to handle ARK SE with Tether Distance set to say 99 without too many issues. The Host's Computer has to keep track of everything the "OTHER" Players are encountering rather than those objects going into a deep sleep like they do on normal singleplayer.

Yes same here they need to fix this I put my tethering distance at 1000000 and it was still about 180m also the fact that 180m is no distance at all my mates can't even leave our base. Solution for Dinos Stuck Under Ground. Seems like the dinos randomly fall through the object (Detailed cliffs, rocks) but remain standing on the solid terrain.
