EDIT: weekly -> daily. Lost Sector exotic drops are weighted towards the new ones that you have yet to obtain, but they are not guaranteed . You must own Beyond Light on the platform you are actively playing on to get any of the exotics that have been released in seasons 12-15. New exotics are not guaranteed.

you have to have completed a lost sector normally to see legendary and master versions on the map. If you have not completed the memory mission for Eris Morn (she is searching for the memory fragments of Sai Mota) on the moon (at least some progress is needed), then the lost sectors do not appear.

It's not showing up for anyone because bungie disabled it due to cheese. Bungie disabled it due to an "issue." Either that means something was broken making it ridiculously hard or people found a way to cheese it and farm exotics insanely fast. It’s the lost sector in the cosmodrome today, forget the name of it, but I think you need to be like 1500 or 1520 light before they unlock. You have to be 1500 light. Once you reach this light level, the lost sector of the day will show up on your destinations map in purple.
