Most of what I read said capacity should be around 1.3-1.5 qts. The fill hole on the new cover matches with the old so I filled up until fluid started coming out, but that only took right at 1 quart. This may be fine but as this is my first time changing diff fluid, I'm a bit freaked out.The manual that came with the truck says it should be filled to 0.6 - 0.8 of an inch just below the fill hole. I put 3 qts in mine when refilling it and it was about a half inch below the fill hole which, according to the manual, is just about where it should be.
