I believe torpedoes are very effective against leviathans now, though space dragons do have some point defenses. EDIT: Never mind, you're not on the new version yet. Torpedoes are still pretty good, though. 30k used to be a pretty good benchmark for fighting leviathans. Since regen now works during combat, you'll probably want more than that.

Both do not get access to the tech after unlocking the dragon hatcheries. So this basically makes rushing the hatchling dragons impossible. Else the dragon origin would be a great meta strategy for competitive gameplay. It is possible to simply rush the ascension path, giving u control over the dragon and the hatcheries early.

This stopped working in 3.4 for some reason, and some claim that it is a hidden, intended balance change. But as it stands for now, it is simply a bug. So, you need to deal more damage per day than it can regenerate. I dont have the exact numbers, but the Hive Asteroid which have 1k Fleet Power require 8k and more to defeat due to that.20k Corvettes (torpedo) and 10k destroyers (neutron launcher)did it for me last time I killed him. Nearly all the destroyers died. I did this on purpose, using the dreg fleets of the 3 empires I'd vassalized and integrated. The destroyers took the brunt of the dragons fury.
