Volatile flow wont work if you have 3 weapon surges on. The max you can have is 2. Volatile flow doesn't work with Hard light or gravtion lance. But Echo of Instability (void fragments) works with Hard light and Gravtion lance. Other void weapons seem to have no issues activating volatile rounds. The volatile explosion is the same damage regardless of what weapon you use, so higher RPM weapons are better (that's why funnelweb is so good), so you can proc the explosion more often. Rockets only proc the explosion once, while a void sniper would proc it on every shot as well so you'd get much more "extra" damage.
