Yeah this is how the guy explained it to me and said maybe one of those small electrical motors is bad or something. I have checked all fuses, relays and bulkhead connectors I can find. Removed the shift touch pad and connector and verified no voltage to the touch pad.You also should remove any aftermarket remote start systems that may also cause the problem. If no aftermarket system is on the vehicle then check the wire connector to the ignition switch and replace the switch. Update: Car is in at the dealer for the third time with this issue. Dealer attempt 1 was to charge the 'low battery'. Dealer attempt 2 was to adjust the exhaust and transmission valves. Dealer attempt 3 is now to replace the fuel pump. Dealer has replicated this issue on multiple occasions themselves.

I thought the reason is that the Allison takes it's pump drive from the engine and not the driveshaft, so if you are coasting in neutral the driveshaft is turning the gears but the fluid is not pumping. That's also the reason you have to remove the driveshaft before towing (rather than just putting it in neutral). Steve.
