Anglers were getting out, using ATVs, side by sides, and even trucks in some areas, but most of that has come to an end. When the sun is out and it warms up a bit, you’ll find fish during the afternoon and evening hours in bays, channels, and harbors in less than 5 feet of water. With cloudy and cooler conditions, continue to look just outside of these areas in 6 to 12 feet. Leech Lake Report. Early this week, ice conditions were still sketchy and there were significant cracks on parts of the main lake and in Walker Bay. Some areas have as much as 10 to 12 inches of ice and some resorts are starting to place a few fish houses in those areas, so continue to work through them.
