50 votes, 36 comments. true. i might not know how staves work, you get to cast each of the spells in the stave for free each day, right? you can get quite a lot of useful spells that way, and unfortunately striker's scroll interferes with our progression (student of the staff is very useful). you could maybe take striker's scroll at level 6 if you dont care about attacks of opportunity

If you want to play someone with more variable action economy. Monk is pretty good and you can load a fighter out well also even a rogue. My player has a "three turn optimal magus rotation" as they call it.
