So I just delivered the rifle to another gunsmith not far away hopefully getting a decent trigger job and the bolt checked. Hopefully I'll have it back shortly. But..!!! On a good note, I just picked up a pristine (Estate) one owner 1977 Marlin 783 .22 Magnum with at that time optional Weaver mounts and 4X Bushnell scope.

The bolt is easy to take apart, but, hell on earth to put back together. The 783 has a nice walnut stock with pressed checkering while the 25mn (2000 version) has a walnut stained hardwood stock w/o checkering. I'd rather not have any checkering if it is not real cut checkering. Both are eqally accurate with a variety of 22wmr ammunition.
