Feb 10, 2016 · C5 General - MGW shifter issue - Ever since we installed the MGW going from 4 to 5 is a little challenging. There is play in the stick while in 4th gear left to right. So if you don't move the stick right to take up the slack before leaving 4th you will often end up back in 3rd instead of 5th. They have a different shaft if you want to put different "ball" type knobs that screw on. They also have a really nice looking race knob that is "cylindrical" in shape. My only experience with short throw shifters in the C6 is the B&M and the MGW.

I have only used a stock C5, stock C6, Hurst, and the MGW shifters but out of them my preference is the MGW - and by a far margin.
