Dec 10, 2007 · The one at my undergrad school had a panel of accepted students and current vet students in the spring semester. It was pretty helpful to know exactly what the people in vet school were going through and to see firsthand what was needed that year and personal interview experiences. they also did field trips to the aquarium and zoo.

Hello, everyone, Like the title says, I have decided to switch from pre-Med to pre-vet. Most of my shadowing and volunteer experiences have been in the healthcare field at hospitals and private practices. I haven’t shadowed a veterinarian yet, but I am actively working on it. Undergraduates must have completed at least 2 years of a 4 year pre-veterinary medicine or some other biomedical science program. Graduates must have completed no more than 1 year of study in veterinary medicine. Students must agree to work for the Animal and Plant Health Inspection Service during school breaks. Obviously at a university with a vet school there are more opportunities to work in veterinary medicine in general, and in particular to work with and get to know professors and advisers that will be able to help you out more than somewhere like UCF.

Fundraising to buy supplies, volunteering time. Maybe even contact a ocal vet or two to come in and talk. A more recent graduated vet would have great advice on applying and what school is like.

UF is the only veterinary medicine school in Florida so that's probably where I'm going for graduate school. I got accepted to UCF for the summer and also applied to UF for the summer.

I was accepted to the honors college- so I would graduate with a honors degree in biology- cum laude. less prestigious and ranked lower.
