Same thing happens to me. Haven't figured out the cause. It's almost as if the car gets confused. I have two workarounds: 1. Use the remote to lock the doors.
If you step out of the 2.5 foot range before the first beep sounds it will not be able to do walk-away lock and you will hear the triple beep of doom . The fob has a pretty low range for the lock proximity or it could be that you and your passengers don’t get out of the car and close the door in similar times. It’s happened with me, but once you the quirks it’s pretty easy to handle.
