Sep 2, 2014 / Briggs and Stratton 24hp vtec 445677. #4. I'm working on a Briggs 445677 in my shop that keeps bending push rods. I have cleaned the valve stems but have been told by Briggs tech that it could be that the valve guides have moved. I'm replacing the entire head tomorrow as the valve guides can't be fixed like in the old L-head engines.
