875 posts · Joined 2011. #6 · Dec 11, 2023. I had a V3 31, and have shot every Mathews flagship since then at the shop. The Lift is the first bow that really feels worth it to me. I hated the engage grip on my V3, but the Lift 33 doesn't feel like it wants to torque as easy, even with the engage grip.
The dealer, actually only the dealer I trust in my area sells Mathew and Hoyt. I shot the RX3 and the Helix vs the Vertix. Honestly I'd be happy with any one of them. So how do I decide? Yeah - the draw on my Hoyt is smoother but this just feels better (albeit heavier) in the hand. Additionally, it just shoots sooooo much better. For example; My Hoyt w/ G5 are off by like 4-5 inches, yet the Mathews, out of the box (mostly), shoots the G5 just like the Field Points.Hoyt, mathews, and pse are three popular bow brands, each offering unique features and models. You and I have the same draw length. Shot the Lift and the Alpha X. Now I cant say the Lift 29 vs Lift 33. The Alpha X 30 vs 33. The way the mod is for Alpha are different places on the 30 vs 33 cam. I shoot currently a 2011 Hoyt Rampage bow and it has a 7 inch brace height. A lot of times I struggle to make tight groups, but my friend brought down his Bowtech Destroyer 350, with a 6 inch brace height and noticed absolutely no difference. In fact, I actually shot better groups at 20 yards with his bow than I do my own.

Ironically I have both of those exact bows from his video as well. I can vouch I shoot the Hoyt much better than my Mathews and even at 28" draw torque tuning was kind of a waste of time with my VXR. Compared a Hoyt Ventum Pro 30 with a Mathews V3X 29. Both bow are shooters, and it is really hard to find something wrong with either bow.
