Just because the tragic discharge happened after the 209 kit was installed, doesn't mean the kit caused the discharge. There are way too many other variables involved that have to be shown to be non-contributory in order to blame the conversion kit even a little.

You'll need to get the Knight 209 conversion kit to shoot 209 primers - includes breech plug, bolt assy, and bp removal tool. I have one on mine but they're hard to find - try Ebay. There are some online but the breech plug looks different than mine - and I don't need the red plastic disks they show either.

Then unscrew and remove the hammer assy from the rear, then remove the nipple (assuming #11 ignition) and plug. Clean and dry everything thoroughly and you should be fine.The coned 209 hammer will work, but it will definitely flare the nipple out. Some folks have taken a Dremel and filed down the cone flat. The Knight redhot nipple is a great nipple also. I have used both setups in my knight plungers, by far prefer the #11 ignition. It is a super setup. Knight brought out the musket cap conversion because they did not think the 209 conversion was good for the MK-85. They were not rated as a "Magnum MZ". And the 209's are pretty hot. Nothing has been changed on the gun other than a new #11 nipple. #11 caps have never let me down and I shoot somewhere around 90 gr of powder.
