I've spent hours watching self repair videos, cleaned the sensors, cleared the pinch detectors, and after 2 cycles it is back to pinch default errors. They over engineered this thing to have sensitive parts exposed to corrosion. Take the screws out of the bottom of the base. Unplug the wire from each pinch bar and remove the bars from the plastic slots. Now take some pliers, tin snips, or whatever you have laying around and cut a clean, non-corroded piece of the pinch bar off so you have a small piece of metal. If you're going to bypass both the bonnet and the pinch ... I probably paid less for my 4 inches of heavy duty packing tape and it took about 30 seconds. Plus my way prevent clumps of litter from being dragged up between the drum and the bonnet and getting lodged in the gap between the base and the bonnet. I found this was often the reason why the two would separate and cause the “bonnet removed” issue.
Yup, the unit where I just replaced the DFI and pinch kit did this about 1 day after replacement and won't even cycle now. I have another unit with the pinch detect fault so I will try the bypass on that unit. These things are such trash.
