I took it to the dealer and they said it was an software issue. They updated the software and problem came back after 2months. The screen goes blank randomly and after 15-20 seconds shows message on the front screen saying RAB/Eyesight disabled.

Great! The reverse automatic braking uses ultrasonic sensors in the bumper - try testing it with an empty trash can instead of a person to test it. Not sure if there's a speed differential for the rear the way there is one for the front. Thanks for the response. I'm baffled that a $40k car doesn't have front sensors.

Here is a picture of the subie backup sensor. Notice the side clip spring (has a small rectangular opening dead center of it). There is another one on the other side of the sensor as well.
