Just looking for some build advice, I'll be playing Pathfinder 2e for the first time soon, coming from DnD 5e. Still getting used to new rules! I really like the idea of Thaumaturge, and decided to try and build a character inspired by Harry Dresden. Spell and scroll choices for Thaumaturge (w/ Sorcerer Dedication) Thaumaturges are incredibly versatile via the "Scroll Esoterica" feat tree. They can (at lvl 10) acquire two scrolls of any tradition of lvl 1 and lvl 2. On top of this I've picked up the Sorcerer Dedication, Shadow bloodline (Occult tradition).Both the classes have innate ways to refocus to use the focus spells. I believe that since Dragon Breath is an innate skill it will auto scale with the DC you get from your class. Dragon form should work better for a Martial than caster I believe. Both classes are super tanky so they can easily get in position without dying.
New GM and not familiar enough with all the spells of PF2 to know what spells are good for 'in case of emergency, break glass' sorts of rewards. TL:dr. Lvl 1 Thaumaturge with Scroll Thaumaturgy in a Hexploration game. Other players are Alchemist | Druid | Champion | Gunslinger | Ranger, so they're light on other casters.

Luckily level 2 thaumaturge feats are not too exciting. As for combat the goal is to be mid/backline with a hand crossbow meaning the level 1 feat to reload is a must. As to how it feels to play, so far not bad. It is really fun making up whatever esoteric weakness fits. A trident or similar weapon might be good for when facing enemies with AoO, but that will require some Dex investment alongside Strength. Step+Fling Magic to avoid an AoO is also good. Shield (or psi shield ), inspire courage, and Steel Yourself are all pretty good 3rd actions from archetypes that mesh well with a Str build Thaumaturge. Reply.Blackbird.
