Apr 22, 2019 · After getting the dark face bug on Aela and checking things out in SSEEdit, I discovered that a WICO patches was getting loaded after Bijin Warmaidens and this was the cause of the bug. Moving the patch above Bijin Warmaidens in the load order resolved it, without any need to regenerate facegen data. You might want to look at either Diversity, Foxy Skyrim or Total Character Makeover. Other than those you'll only find mods that change certain NPCs but are not as extensive as WICO or those mentioned above. Total Character Makeover is really well done and Coverkhajits for the kitties (Oldrim mod but works fine in SE).This particular merging saves TONS of nerves. Previously I was running WICO > ICOW > WICO/ICOW Patch Now I am running ICOW > WICO > WICO/ICOW patch and the blackfaces are gone, so far. I suppose this means that the game was expecting WICO facegen values, but was being supplied with ICOW facegen values at the last stage, causing the blackface. Modifying packages didn't have an effect.
